Man Faces Twitter Backlash Over Photo Of Children On Train

Twitter user criticised for uploading picture of children

Should children who can’t reach the straps be allowed to sit on the floor?

Netizens have reacted strongly to the news about a man who uploaded a picture of kindergarteners sitting on the floor of a train carriage while on a school trip.

The man called the children “irritating” and slated the school for allowing the children to sit on the floor. But many netizens countered that small children cannot reach the hanging straps that adults use, and therefore if the carriage is crowded, it’s much safer that they sit.

What do you think? Should these young children have been made to stand?

Man Who Uploads Picture Of Kindergartners Sitting On Train Carriage Floor And Calls Them “Irritating” Sparks Online Fury

Twitter user criticised for uploading picture of children on school trip in Japan sitting on train carriage floor

Now that the “Mountain Day” bill has been passed in the Diet, it has become the season when people want to travel a little further. Children, too, have a lot of opportunities to go on excursions to the sea or to the mountains thanks to field trips, don’t they? But now a man who uploaded a picture to Twitter showing kindergarteners sitting on the floor of a train carriage has sparked fury. It seems that the train was so crowded there was nowhere else for the children to sit.

Children Allowed To Sit In Carriage Of Crowded Train

The man who uploaded the picture was irritated by the fact that the children had been put to sit on the floor of the carriage because the train was crowded, at tweeted “I don’t know if this is an excursion or whatever, but what the hell kind of educational principle allows kids to sit on the floor of a crowded train carriage?” The kindergarten teacher was also visible in the picture, which raised doubts about the original poster: “What kind of education did you get, to upload a picture of inside a train to Twitter, where a number of people are visible?”

The man also explained that it was “soooo irritating” and “dirty” to let the children sit on the floor.

Had they been made to sit down because they couldn’t hold the straps inside the carriage

Users who say the picture guessed that “Weren’t they made to sit down because they couldn’t hold the straps?”, and it seems that the school judged that it was safer for the children to sit on the floor rather than fall over.

Of course, they could have let them sit in other empty seats, but then they would be all over the place and it would be difficult to do a roll-call. Still, they also got complaints from passengers like this one, so this is probably a pretty difficult issue in any case.

Online Reaction

・ Some of these kids would be riding the train for the first time on an excursion, and they’re not even tall enough to grab the hanging straps.

・ The straps aren’t low enough for them.

・ So would it have been better if they’d fallen over and were rolling around the floor screaming?

・ I guess they’re sitting down because it’s dangerous.

・ What has education become in kindergartens and preschools these days?

・ What the hell kind of education did you have, uploading a picture to Twitter of a train carriage where a number of people are visible?

・ They should have been kicked off immediately!

・ These kids piss me off. They take all the seats on the train, so pesky. Fucking nuisance.

・ They’re all behaving well and sitting down, so cute.

・ When I was in preschool/elementary, we all stood up on the train www

・ We can’t trust any of ’em, not even the education committee

・ When I was I kid I sat on the floor sometimes, when the train was crowded.

・ Oh come on, kids can’t grab the straps

・ This kind of thing is really different depending on the school, so much so it’s frightening.

・ This is just awful.

I’ve never heard of a kindergarten going on an excursion by train before.
Usually they go by bus.

What were they supposed to do? They can’t grab the straps.

I just think that it’s a huge burden for the teacher to make kindergarteners use the train.

I see, I mean it is much safer for them to sit down.

If it meant them sitting on the floor then hire out a carriage, assholes!

In this instance I think they should have used the school bus or hired a bus instead and not use the train.

Come on, it wasn’t even that crowded, and I don’t suppose the kids could have reached the hanging straps, so it’s safer that they’re sitting down. What’s the problem.

So now they let the kids do stuff like this?
