Hidden Camera Found In School, Staff Destroy Evidence

Hidden camera found in elementary school in Osaka, evidence destroyed by principal and vice-principal

Question: What do you do if you discover a hidden camera in a women’s locker room at an elementary school?
Answer: Destroy all the evidence and make no attempt to investigate.

Or at least, that’s what the principal and vice-principal of an Osaka elementary school decided to do when a female member of staff reported that a camera had been hidden in the women’s locker room.

The principal claimed that he did not want to have to search for the perpetrator, and the vice-principal obligingly smashed the camera with a hammer, after taking it to his home to check the footage. And of course, he, ummm, found nothing on there. At all. And everyone lived happily ever-after, following a short period of suspension for the supposedly hapless pair.

But using their mind-blowing detective skills, 2ch netizens think they are pretty certain who the perpetrators are in the curious case of the camera-concealing criminals…

From News24.jp:

Hidden Camera Found In Elementary School, Principal And Vice-Principal Conceal The Evidence (Osaka Prefecture)

It has been reported that at a municipal elementary school in Osaka City, disciplinary actions were being taken after a camera, which appeared to be for taking secret photographs, had been found in the women’s locker room at the school but despite this, the vice-principal had smashed the camera and together with the school principal had concealed the fact that it had been there at all. According to the Osaka Municipal Education Committee, in July last year, a female teacher at the school discovered a hidden camera in the female staff locker room, and reported it to the vice-principal. The vice-principal then reported it to the school principal, but the school principal did not investigate further, saying “I can’t be bothered to find the criminal”, and following this the vice-principal destroyed the camera with a hammer. Last month, the Education Committee handed out punishments of one month’s suspension for the principal, and two months’ suspension for the vice-principal. The school principal said that he “had not been able to judge the situation appropriately”, while the vice-principal stated that “I thought that the principal wanted the camera gone. When I checked the camera back at my house, nothing was recorded on it”. The vice-principal further added that he was not the person who had put it there.

Arrest the pair of ’em.
The school is not the principal’s kingdom, and it does not have autonomy above the law.
